What Is It — Individual Therapy — Manovritti

What is individual therapy?

A space that is entirely,
completely yours.

Individual therapy is a one-on-one process between you and a trained therapist. Unlike talking to a friend or family member, your therapist has no stake in the outcome — their only job is to help you understand yourself, process what you're carrying, and move forward.

Sessions typically involve open conversation guided by your therapist using evidence-based methods. There is no set script — every session is built around where you are that week. Over time, patterns emerge, insights deepen, and things that once felt impossible start to shift.

At Manovritti, individual therapy is available for adults and adolescents dealing with a wide range of concerns — from anxiety and depression to burnout, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.

Is this right for you?

You might benefit from
individual therapy if...

You don't need to be in crisis to start therapy. Most people begin when something feels persistently off — and they're ready to understand why.

You feel anxious, low, or emotionally exhausted most days — and you can't quite explain why.

You keep repeating the same patterns in relationships, work, or behaviour — and you want to understand them.

Something happened — a loss, a breakup, a difficult chapter — and you haven't fully processed it yet.

You feel disconnected from yourself — going through the motions but not feeling present in your own life.

You have thoughts you don't feel safe sharing with family or friends — and you need a space where nothing is off-limits.

You're going through a major life transition — a new city, a career change, a relationship shift — and need support navigating it.

Work has taken over your life and you've lost touch with who you are outside of what you produce.

You simply want to understand yourself better — your emotions, your triggers, your needs — and live more intentionally.

Therapy isn't a straight line — but here's a rough sense of what most clients experience across a course of individual sessions.

Testimonial — Individual Therapy — Manovritti

I had been carrying something for years — convincing myself it wasn't serious enough for therapy. The first session made me realise I should have come sooner. Six months in, I don't recognise the version of me that used to dread waking up. I actually feel like myself again.

Name and details changed to protect confidentiality. Shared with consent.

Ready to feel like
yourself again?

Most people tell us the hardest part was deciding to reach out. Everything after that — the first session, the conversations, the gradual shift — was lighter than they expected.

No referrals needed. Same-week appointments available. Fees shared on confirmation.

FAQ

Questions about individual therapy

These are the questions we hear most before a first session. If yours isn't here, we're a message away.

Still have a question?

Message us on WhatsApp — Mon–Sun, 9 AM–7 PM.

01

How long will I need to be in therapy?

There is no fixed duration. Mild concerns like exam anxiety or work stress may resolve in 4–6 sessions. Deeper concerns — trauma, long-standing depression, personality patterns — may take several months. Your therapist will discuss an estimated plan after the first session, and you can always pause or stop when you feel ready.
02

What do I actually talk about in a session?

Whatever is most on your mind. There is no agenda you have to follow. Some sessions focus on something specific that happened that week; others go deeper into patterns or the past. Your therapist will guide the conversation, but you always set the direction. You never have to talk about anything you're not ready for.
03

Will my therapist give me advice or tell me what to do?

Not in the way a friend or family member would. Therapists are trained to help you find your own clarity rather than telling you what to do — because the answers that last come from within you, not from someone else. That said, your therapist will point things out, offer frameworks, and challenge you when it's helpful.
04

What if I don't connect with my therapist?

The therapist-client relationship is the most important factor in therapy working. If you don't feel the connection, tell us — we'll match you with someone else, no questions asked. It happens and it's completely normal. Finding the right fit matters more than anything else.
05

Can I do individual therapy online?

Yes — and research shows online therapy is just as effective as in-person for most concerns. We use a secure, private video platform. All you need is a quiet space and a stable internet connection. Many of our clients prefer online for the convenience and privacy it offers.
