What Is It — Couple Therapy — Manovritti

What is couple therapy?

A space built for
both of you.

Couple therapy — also called relationship therapy — is a process where both partners work with a trained therapist to improve communication, resolve conflict, and rebuild emotional connection. The therapist is a neutral third party whose only goal is to help both of you be heard and understood.

It is not about deciding who is right or wrong. It is about helping two people understand each other better — what they need, what they fear, and what they truly want from the relationship.

At Manovritti, couple therapy is available at any stage — whether you are newly together and want to build a strong foundation, going through a difficult period, or navigating a major life decision together.

Is this right for you?

Couple therapy might be right
for you if...

You do not have to be on the verge of separation to seek couple therapy. Most couples come when something has felt stuck for a while — and they want to shift it.

You keep having the same argument — different topic, same outcome — and neither of you feels heard.

There is distance between you that has quietly grown, and neither of you knows how to close it.

One or both of you has been unfaithful, and you are trying to figure out whether and how to rebuild trust.

Communication has broken down — conversations turn into fights, or you have both stopped trying altogether.

A major life event — a loss, a baby, a move, a career change — has created unexpected tension between you.

You love each other but feel like you are living parallel lives, rarely truly connecting.

You are planning to marry and want to build a stronger foundation before you do.

One partner is struggling individually and it is affecting the relationship — and you want to face it together.

Journey — Couple Therapy — Manovritti

What to expect

The couple therapy
journey.

Every relationship is different, but here is a rough sense of what most couples experience across a course of sessions.

1

Session 1

Both sides of the story

Each of you shares your perspective — how you experience the relationship, what you need, and what brought you here. Your therapist listens to both.

No homework · No judgement
2

Sessions 2–5

Understanding the patterns

Your therapist helps you both see the cycle you are in — not just the surface arguments but the deeper dynamics driving them.

The real work begins here
3

Sessions 6–12

New ways of being together

You start communicating differently — listening more fully, expressing more clearly, and responding rather than reacting.

Noticeable shifts appear
4

Closing sessions

Consolidating and moving forward

You close with a shared understanding of what you have built, what to watch for, and how to keep growing together.

Skills you keep forever

Testimonial — Couple Therapy — Manovritti

We were at the point where we could barely finish a sentence without it turning into a fight. After eight sessions, we are not just arguing less — we actually understand what the other person needs. We have learned to listen in a completely different way.

Name and details changed to protect confidentiality. Shared with consent.

Ready to find
your way back to each other?

Taking this step together is already a sign that you both want things to be different. That shared intention is more powerful than you might think.

No referrals needed. Same-week appointments available. Fees shared on confirmation.

FAQ — Couple Therapy — Manovritti

FAQ

Questions about couple therapy

These are the questions we hear most before a first session. If yours isn't here, we're a message away.

Still have a question?

Message us on WhatsApp — Mon–Sun, 9 AM–7 PM.

01

Do we both have to want to come, or can one of us be reluctant?

One partner being more hesitant is very common. Therapy works best when both partners are present, but starting — even with some doubt — is far better than not starting at all. After the first session, most hesitant partners are glad they came.
02

Will the therapist take sides?

No. The therapist's role is to be a neutral facilitator — helping both of you be heard and understood, not to decide who is right. You will both have equal space in every session.
03

What if one of us also needs individual therapy?

Very often, individual and couple therapy run alongside each other. If your therapist thinks individual sessions would help either of you, they will discuss this with you. At Manovritti, both are available under one roof.
04

Can couple therapy help if we are considering separation?

Yes. In fact, many couples come to therapy specifically to make that decision clearly — with full understanding of what the relationship is and what it could be. Some couples find their way back; others separate with more clarity and less pain. Either outcome is valid.
05

Is couple therapy available online?

Yes — and many couples find online sessions easier to fit into busy schedules. We use a secure video platform. You can both join from the same location or from different places.
